A rolling meet might be the go, since once you get to Cameron's Corner there's not a lot there to make you want to stay for a few days! Not that I have ever been there! Could be very wrong.
So . . . . Bourke could be one of several 'pick up' points. Another could be Tibooburra, and maybe some of the towns in Queensland that drivers would pass through on their way to Cameron's corner.
Could also have others at Hawker, Port Augusta, or Broken Hill, for the Croweaters, and there are plenty in Victoria. Maybe a nominated route for the Vics up from Melbourne to Mildura, so that different people can jump on the convoy at various points, depending on where they live.
So groups from the different states could arrange with fellow travellers to meet at these various points, and then have their convoy along the tracks to Cameron's corner for the 'big' rendezvous on a nominated date. Then the whole group could continue west to Moomba, or better still turn north up the 'shortcut' to Innaminka ( forgot the name of that track, but apparently it is a beaudy - I think its the Bore Track? ). And then there is plenty to go see around Innaminka. After all the rain in Queensland the Cooper and the wetlands should be great.
Queenslanders can head east from there, while the NSW and Vics can head home east and then south back through Tibooburra, and the South Aussie's can go wherever! ( West to Birdsville, south to Moomba, or east and south back down through Broken Hill.
There are plenty of options for people joining a group on the way in to Cameron's, and leaving after that, depending on how many days they have.
