I was given a seedling for my birthday. Bhut Jolkia, it is supposed to be the worlds hottest chilli. Bhut Jolkia comes in at 1,001,304 Scoville heat units. It is nearly twice as hot as Red Savina. I think I'm looking forward to trying it!

So how is the seedling going?
How long till the chilli is ready?

Here is an interesting article about them

I think Naga Jolika is the same thing. 'The Ghost Chilli'. Sounds exciting. I have worked myself up to being about to withstand a teaspoon of Blair's Megadeath suace. That is pretty hot!

Cheers,

James

I haven't planted them out yet. I was waiting for the hot spell to finish.

G'day Patriot,

I am in Beaconsfield, just round the corner. I grown them here and don't seem to have any trouble. I have made my own soil mix up, consisting of part potting mix, part coarse sand and part scoria. This seems to do them well as they like soil that drains easily. I am growing a couple of different types, bell chillies, red savina and jalapenos. Am waiting for some Nagas to germinate. Normally do these in the old fashined way, cotton wool in a bowl with some glad wrap over the top with a couple of holes in it. Got to keep them moist though.

I have attached a page in jpeg format from the Hippy Seed Company with some basic instructions, explanation etc.

Love the stuff ( on everything )

David

Cheers Davidman,

Looks like I will wait till Spring and plant some Nagas. Looking forward to it, will also get some Scotch Bonnets and Habeneros.

Thanks

James
