Thumbs up Maps and GPS Info

I was looking around for some GPS stuff and came across this site

Maps and GPS Info - Useful Information on Maps and GPS

It may be worth adding all useful sites and links into one thread.

Symbian 60 phone can use UTM Data from UTM data, it is a java app that will give useful information from your phone's GPS so you can find it on the map

What can I use UTM data for?
1. Show the current location of your Series 60 GPS phone in several grid coordinates formats (UTM, MGRS, OSGB, IG, CH1903, Maidenhead, Deg-Min-Sec). Allows you to use your GPS phone to locate yourself on paper maps with these grids
2. Convert from a grid coordinate to the native phone coordinate format, and read and write to the phone landmark store. Allows you to use converted grid coordinates with navigation applications such as Google Maps and Nokia Maps
3. Show the distance and direction bearing from your location to a grid coordinate position. Enables you to use a magnetic compass to locate that position.
4. Use the integrated compass with sun and moon direction to navigate to a position
5. Import map images to see your location

Adding to the list

Tracks for Australia Pro (more detail than T4A but need to buy it at a modest cost). Neither is updated regularly.

Open Street Map (world wide open source mapping) Particularly good in Oz cities and getting better (but a long way off being good) in non-metro, bush. But you can upload your tracks to make it better!

Tyre is easy to use. I did the planning for the trip before Christmas starting in Brisbane and headed south to almost Melbourne via many interesting places including the snowy's and many country towns. It uses Google Maps to give you a display of the trip and easy locations. TomTom needs to pass through the points selected to stay on the route or you can manual mark it completed. I give this product a 9 out of 10

Default ViewRanger seems ok

ViewRanger for symbian appears to be OK, I just downloaded the 16 day trial this morning and have only used it around town, but it appears to be ok.

Not sure how it would go out mobile service range though. Still playing before paying.
