Hi guys
OSM maps (for Garmin and Magellan) are free to download from a couple of sites (
Open Street Map Australia and
Worldwide routable Garmin maps from OpenStreetMap) and are pretty good for cities but need more bush tracks and non-metro and country town roads added to it. Uploading your tracks means that the OSM maps become more usable to more people and more worthwhile for yourself to download. Routable maps are available but mainly for the cities.
For other forums (GPS Aust also for Open Street Map) a couple of us developed an OSM Guide for Dummies to show some simple steps on how to upload your GPS tracks into OSM.
