Hi Al
There are lots of Mios. Have you looked at their website? Mio Australia
ShonkyMaps is a free map set suited for Garmin (and Magellan I think - not sure about Mio though). Have a look here GPS Australia
They are great for out of city tracks, topo etc. OSM is better in cities if you want free.

shonky maps load on Garmins but someone was attempting to make it work on Magellan, don't if it has happen yet. If the Mio is a Windows CE OS then check out NavmanUnlocked Wiki - Unlock and you can run OziExplorerCE on it

HI Big Pig, welcome aboard.
I use a Mio Digiwalker running Oze Explorer, bumble bee etc.
Miopocket is designed for the Mio range including moov and works a treat, below is a link to the thread I posted on it, included in the thread is a link to the software.
This is much more than just an unlock hack - turns your navagator into a pocket pc, I would use the SD card install so you dont mess up the mio software on the flash drive.
Once you installed Miopocket you still need to download Oze explorer but an Icon is provided for when you install it.
