OziExplorer only runs on Windows or Windows CE. Official OziExplorer Web Site - GPS Mapping Software for Tracking and Navigation. Supports Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance and GPS

GPS that support that are Hema, Navman (unlocked), KNav (or similar from eBay), Windows laptop/Netbook or any unit that has Windows or WinCE

I note that you mention the Hema is very confusing. I have a Hema Navigator that runs Ozi, Memory Map and standard street nav software. Upon start up, I am presented with 3 buttons. All I do is select what I want, usually Ozi. I have not found the Hema confusing, but at times have found Ozi confusing, especially if you do not use some of the functions very often. Just my 2c worth..

Agree Davidman, I created the control screens which made a OziCE more user friendly. The Hema is easy to use

Check this link for videos on how to use Ozi on a Hema. Although based on the old model Navigator, it still works the same. Video Tutorials / Guides

Smile GPS with Oziexplorer

I use a VMS500, which gives both street maps and Mem map which is style of topo mapping to Ozie, you can also run OZIE on this unit without too much difficulty.
a good size screen 5" but dont like the touch screen on a bumpy road.
There are some good functions in Ozie and I run both depending on where I am going.
The problem is that if you want full access to Mem Map on your laptop you have to purchase a licence, same with Ozzie, I already had the Ozie licenses on the laptop and on Wince but not Mem Map, If you buy map updates for the street section it comes with Mem Map pre loaded with the latest maps, if you go Oziex then you have to purchase the top maps separately , BUT you dont get any street maps ,
So you have to decide which one you like.

Regards Graham

I have just purchased a Knav 7": sceen and about to try it out next month on a out back trip through West Aust to Karijini and go to ozi and hema on it if the current maps ain't that good.
