Default Mio & oziexplorer

Hey Four-by's

I have a Mio Moov 360 with Mio pocket 4 installed and oziexplorerCE installed as well, I'm having trouble downloading a map from this site and getting it to my Mio. so i can go cruising. What do I download the file as, a word document, A txt file ? I have placed it on the mio but ozi doesn't read or find it . where am i going wrong, ???

I have found the OziExplorer thread and have downloaded all the help files, will print them and read , hoping that someone has had some experience and can offer a leg up.

cheers..

P.S

I make beer if that helps,

Joe

The map will have to be in OZF Format for it to work with Ozi. You'll need to download Image to OZF from Official OziExplorer Web Site - GPS Mapping Software for Tracking and Navigation. Supports Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance and GPS. You'll find it under the Optional Extras link.

I'm trying to get tracks merimbula postman's track and candelo postman's tracks NSW. I download them as .plt and where to from there, I get a page of co-ordinates , how do i save from there, do i just save as a img file from notepad?

I have oziexplorer in the root folder of my SD card and Img2Ozf in the ozi folder I also have OziConvertData on the PC,

The only Ozi file for download is .plt, can i download it in another file that could be converted to map or ozf ?

Make sure you use the map that is converted to the native format of Oziexplorer CE makes it work fast and correctly. Please see the oziexplorer web site

The plt file is not a map file it is a track file. You will need to have a map loaded into Oziexplorer then you can open the plt file to display on the open map.

Cheers

Ok, I knew I was doing something wrong, Piece by piece I'm getting there. Appreciate the help. So i'm guessing easiest way is to buy some maps? and then lay a track file from this site over top ....

That's pretty much the way of it. You can get maps from the Oziexplorer website or from maps shops. There is a good help file & tutorials included with the oziexplorer software & there is a lot of people with ozi experience on the forum to help out.

Cheers
