I like the rooftop maps Matt. For someone who has crap eyesite, I find them easy to see, well sort of, & most tracks are well defined.

On a Hema Navigator, I use Hema, Rooftop, Meridian (Otways and Wombat State Forest) and Spatial Vision (Vicmap). Rooftop aren't being produced on CD anymore but I have the Dargo Region and the Bright-Benalla-Mansfield Region in stock still if anyone wants a copy. I also have the Vicmap books and DVD too.

I'm with you Matt, you can't beat the Vic maps for your area, the rooftop aren't bad but really toys in comparison.

I find the rooftops aren't too bad for finding camping areas and the like but are out of date a bit. The 1:25000 Vic maps have a lot more detail to them and with the Vic fire maps I have a great coverage of the areas I tend to drive.
Still looking for a better set of maps but not finding any.

Nothing like real maps and a compass, its the only way to go. shall have to dig up my MUM maps unless Cleggy has them??
BTW , MUM stands for marked up maps, used in the old rally days when navigation was nearly as hard as driving LMHO, but it sometimes ended in an off due to extra knowledge provided and not driving the tracks enough
