Just an update on a few things I've added to my Hilux recently.
I added a custom front recovery point. 10mm plate and hook.
Got a rated hitch and shackle to put in the towbar for a rear recovery point.
Fitted some colour coded Utemart wheel arch flares to cover the MTZ's
Fitted a SprintBooster power converter to enhance the drive by wire throttle response.
Got an ARB onboard high flow air compressor under the bonnet.
And whacked a stebel horn up front for shits and giggles.

I recently broke my airbag spiral cable (aka clock spring) while out on the tracks. Basically, while the spring is broken the airbag will not go off in the event of an accident. My Hilux is out of warranty and although it's a common problem for them to break Toyota wouldn't do an out of warranty replacement for me. They offered to fix it for me at $670 for the part and 1 hour labour to fit. Eff that I said and did some hunting and found a new clock spring in Thailand via ebay for $160 delivered. I fitted it myself at home in 15 minutes and saved $510.

Cheers

Joel

A bit of an update. The latest additions/modifications to my Hilux are :

* Clutch Industries 4 Terrain heavy duty clutch.
* Front and Transmission bashplates.
* 90 series Prado steel wheels with 255/85R16 (33") Maxxis Bighorn tyres.
* Took a leaf out of each pack of rear springs to soften the rear up a bit.
* Replaced the muffler section of my 3" exhaust with a straight through pipe.
* Uptop Campers rooftop tent with custom barwork to sit the tent on the ute tub level with the cab roof.
* More scratches and dents.

I had better post some up to date photo's soon.

Cheers

Joel.
