Default Toyota 75 Series 1996

Toyota 75 Series, 1996

Good Points
Massive amount of torque, reliable, the canapoy is fantastic for camping, fuel range is good. Have pulled in total in more than 6500kgs, and what was on the trailer?? a patrol lol. Had the diffs and heavy duty clutch checked, and all A ok. Toyota have built one tough 4WD.

Bad Points
Turning circle of the titanic, the 1hz 4.2ltr diesel can be a bit slow at times. If you want it to last, gotta take good care of it, which i do. But it involves oil changes every 5-7000kms, depending on what i did for hose 5-7kms. And with an oil capacity of 9.6ltrs, regular oil changes are not the cheapest thing to do, but its a must.

What mods have you done?
Bull bar, semi upgrade to BFG ATs/ winch, extended diff breathers, spot lights.

What mods are on the list to do?
2" Lift, 33" tyres, snokle, extractors and exhaust.

Why did you buy this vehicle?
I started off 4X4ing as a proffesional Bush Fire Fighter. We used the 75series and 79series to fight the fires. Some of the places we had to go, and tracks to go up, including bull dozer tracks (done very quickly lol) with all of the weight we were carrying, i knew what i was buying before i bought it. Its superior strenght and reliablity gave me the green light.

How often do you go offroad?
at least once a fortnight.

What will your next vehicle be?
deffinatly looking to go to the new turbo diesels, however there compression is not as good.
