Challengers are a nice 4by and Lee would agree (when she see the thread). Any photos you can add, you may not be able to add them until you get to 5 posts. You need to select "Go Advanced" to add them

Default Sizing up Challengers

Hi All!,

New to the forum. Im currently looking at 2003 - 2005 Challnegers as an entry level 4WD. I did quite a great deal of 4Wdriving when I was younger (I lived in Kununurra so use to hit the Gibb River Road every weekend). In the big smoke now though and wnat to start again.

As with any car there will be things i need to look out for, do you guys have any tips on what to look for when buying a second hand challenger?

Cheers
Matto

Hi Matto
Not really a lot to look out for on Challengers of those years. Timing belts and water pump every 100k other than that just regular maintanance.
Bought mine when it had 80k on it and have now done 155k without putting a spanner to it. And it goes offroad. Made in the same factory as Pajeros in Japan they are pretty reliable. Maybe check the duco for scratches

May be a bit late but I have a 2003 Challenger and have got rust under the tailgate bottom rubber. I know the previous owner and it's history from new. Have also seen the one other with the same problem. You'll need to remove a few screws and the rubber pulls straight off.

Be good to know if anyone else have found the problem....

Mine has a few minor rusty spots on the radiator support, chassis and upper door frames... Mostly surface rust so not too much concern atm but will need attention soon
