Default Toyota Landcruiser 60 Series 1983

Toyota Landcruiser 60 Series, 1983

Good Points
Its not the complete utter pig I thought it was.

Bad Points
The thing is red yet has a blue passenger front door and guard.
Usual surface rust.

What mods have you done?
She's on dual fuel
Has dual batteries

What mods are on the list to do?
New re-set leaf springs going in next week
New shocks to go with the above
90ltr OE tank to go in very shortly
Some 33" rubber to make their way under the car hopefully

Why did you buy this vehicle?
Because the other car I'm building is taking too long and I got impatient not having a working toy - and for me its my first foray into the 4WD thing.

How often do you go offroad?
Not enough

What will your next vehicle be?
I change my mind too often

Well for those playing at home, some may have noticed I'd only put up pics showing 1 side of the truck - she had a dirty little secret. Seems the previous owner bent the passenger side front guard and door and replaced them with blue ones. Blue on a red car ??? Not good.

Now as stated I'm using this ride to learn a few bits n pieces so wanted to do the necessary paint n panel myself. At this stage its only got a a couple of coats of the factory freeborn red, but it still needs a few more before I polish it back to get a sheen on it. At least its an improvement and doesnt stick out as much.

I also took the opportunity to sort out the rear bar and tow assembly with a new coat of paint and fitted the new tail lights as the others had gone cloudy and brittle. A bit ticked off the replacement 4WD badge for the gate hasnt come in but that should be here soon.

Also this weekend secured myself a snorkel (not looking forward to fitting this) and scored some 31x10.5x15 mud tyres with about 80% for real cheap as well as some re-set and higher leaf springs so I've still got a small novel of a to do list before I'm happy with her.

Small update - new rims in the way of 15x8 black sunnies, new headlight surrounds, indicator assemblies and the roof racks I got have been reworked and fitted along with the spare wheel mount to get that out of the way.

Have a snorkel due any day now, got the gear to do a full service on the engine and chasing some spotties for the front bar
