I say next year. . . . . . "The Corner" would be good, we were going to do it at Easter this year but changed our plans (and also its comming around too quick, camper needs another water tank) . . . . . . . . Anytime would suit us we arent worried about taking the kids from school. . . . . .

Will follow this thread. . . . . . . .

Camerons corner sounds good for 2011, Sturt National park could be hard as apparently no wood fires permitted according to DECC.

What is the best time of year to visit this area? Mid year? or September?

Best time would depend if you hate flies and heat I prefer around April but still a few flies around then July is cold at night but nice during the day, September is hot around the 30's during the day and mild nights but the flies are out, November /December very hot all though it is normally a dry heat in this area.
My vote would be for April/May but I wont be able to make a 2011 trip as we are planning another three week trip for 2011.

If you get a sizeable group going a liitle headsup to the Corner store/pub if you are planning a trip there for a meal and drink so they dont get caught out with not enough supplies, have been there a few times and they had run out of hot chips, pies , burgers and bread.

I don't want to be a Party Pooper, but what is the attraction of Camerons Corner?

There is a Corner Post - A Gate & a Pub.
Unless it rains there all two wheel drive roads around there.

Hey Bill,

Any other suggestions out that way? Maybe we could do a day trip to the corner and stay somewhere else. I supose the reason for meeting at the corner is so everyone can say they have been there.

This is the great thing about a forum we can all have an input on where the event is held

I have been through and cleaned up this thread - so if your post got deleted it was off topic sorry

I have also changed the date on the fron to 2011 as i think we all agree this trip will be next year as this year is pretty well booked up and people need to save some coin.

Keep the ideas coming guys and we will all see what we come up with.

Cheers

A meeting like this needs to be near many places and tracks for the day trips and the socialising in the evening. I would like to do the corner but I have done Birdsville many years ago and managed to get a Leyland P76 there. Needs to be interesting, I would prefer Stockton Beach or the Snowy/Alpine regions over the corner

The Blue Mountains area would be good too, this would give member ability to do the tracks and the caves near by. Plus you could take a drive around Bathurst track
