Young 4wders keen to get out there
Was over on 4wdmonthly forum and was told to come here. I'm a young guy in Sydney, had a 4wd for a couple of years but haven't got heaps of experience.
I was trying to see whether there were many other young guys and girls keen to get out and meet some other young 4wders and have a bit of a wheel together. It just seems that when you look to go on trips, the choice is often for the family-orientated clubs who just want to mosey around and stop for picnics, to show the kids stuff, blah blah blah, or else the hardcore clubs who go out to trash their trucks. I'm trying to see if there's somewhere in between.
So if you're a new/young 4wder near Sydney, and you want to meet some other young 4wders to get out there and have a drive sometime, have fun and get some more experience, maybe post up here?

You can come along this Saturday if you're free, I'm organising a trip to Kanangra. See in NSW Trips forum, "Kanangra Saturday 28th".
Otherwise, theres currently a thread in the NSW trips forum, called "Sydney Evening Gathering" which organises regular trips around Sydney area. I went on one trip and there were two others aged around 25.
I'm 21 and I know what you mean. Im sure there are plenty of other younger 4x4 drivers in Sydney who are after the same thing (myself included).
But I guess the best thing is to come along on the trips and you will get to know the younger members and then you can start organising trips with them.
Cheers,
David.

Must be hard these days. when I was the young 4wdriver there was countless places to go around sydney and outer suburbs. used to be hard to make your mind up where to go, now its hard to find somewhere to go. its only going to get worse I reckon

Hey fervit,
Where are you from? I'm up in the mountains,
You should definitely keep an eye on the "Sydney Evening Gathering" page as ferozious mentioned we try and get out one night a week.
If you know of any tracks that could be good for a 2-3hr trip let us know on there and we will come along on a week night, we have been on tracks in the mountains all the way out to Bloodwood road.
And, if your really keen, meet us on Saturday (2moro) at the Mt Vic servo in the mountains and come on ferozious's "Kanangra Saturday 28th" trip
PS, see you 2moro ferozious
Brett

I'm from Hornsby, so the mountains aren't really that close to me for weeknight trips. I usually go to watagans. I would have liked to do the trip this weekend but I don't even have my 4wd at the moment - at the mechanic!!
Organise another one SOON!!!

I'm in Hornsby as well but there really is nothing worthy of a mention nearby. At least an hours drive to get anywhere interesting. Give us a buzz if you ever want to get out there sometime.
