Yes elderley people cause big mistakes by inattention/medical reasons
Young people cause big mistakes by speeding/drinkdriving etc

No one is pointing the finger at one single person in these stats.

Flame suit on
Sorry i get very defensive .I have been like that since i was 19 years old and flying down the road in my FJ Holden lol

So, to get back on track..................

What we really need is to hear from Graham Code himself as to why he lit whatever fire he lit so we have a bit more info.

I think he's being treated like most others would be treated when we find out it wasn't a deliberate arson (firebug) or carelessness (maybe?). Knowledgeable cockie anywhere (not just a bloke a few of us know) should be given a chance to explain before he gets burnt at the stake.

How do we know he didn't come forward himself?

Considering he should know better lets give him the benefit of the doubt and wait to hear his reasons.

Can i just ask at what age someone is deemed to be elderly?

ie. ,a youth is a youth until he/she is 18 then they are an adult.

Is it a certain age or a physical/mental state that catagorises you as elderly? Is there a separate penal code for the "elderly" as there is for a youth?

I would say we could assume he didnt hand himself in as the fire was burning for 10 days or so when the arson squad announced they had charged someone over the incident........and if he did hand himself in why take 10 days to do it. I totally agree with some other comments here he needs to be held totally accountable whether people know him or not if it was a mistake or not the consequences of his actions have been the same.

The police do take time to charge as all ducks have to line up or cases get thrown out of court. Eg a certain federal minister

Ill wait to hear what the facts are and let the courts work it out before i judge him.

He apparently handed himself in the next day, investigations do take time as all the facts are to be gathered before hand, let him be judged through the system as it should be, no flame suits are required here.

Im not trying to flame him, I just dont think he should be defended either. His actions have cost a life, and ruined alot of other familes lives with loss of houses and livestock etc..........Like I said accident or not the consequences are the same. He broke the law with a VERY high cost.
