Red face Which Oils?

Hi all, before my next trip I've decided to give my troopy a birthday and replace the oil in my diffs, transfer case and gearbox. It's a 93 model with a 4.2 diesel, my question is, what grades of oil should I use, every one I've asked gives me different grades, some have recommeded multi-grade eg 75W-90, others have recommenged single grade and warned against multigrade. Does it really make that much difference? Appreciate any feedback.
Cheers
Dave
