You do have a turbo on your 2.8?

Vaccum line off the alternator tells you nothing at all. (unless you have a Variable Geometry Turbo)

Odds are its a waste gate turbo and therefore to measure the boost you need to put a "T" piece into the waste gate line.

You do not want a vacuum line thats negative pressure you need positive pressure.

Got some pictures of the engine at all?

Cheers

Justin

Yes mate.

The shiny thing is the waste gate actuator. Once a pre determined pressures occurs the pressure in the hose going on to the actuator opens the waste gate and limiting the pressure the turbo provides to the engine.

That hose should lead to the inlet manifold at some point.

Just "T" piece it where its convenient.

Cheers
