Default High pressure cleaners

I have just bought a high pressure water spray to clean my ute down after an outing. Now my brother-in-law tells me that these things can take the duco off. Is this true? I'd be grateful to hear opinions. Thanks in advance.

Default And other thing on this ..

Fortunately the high-pressure cleaner was pretty reasonably priced - it's a Bosch I think.
And while I'm asking, I have heard that it is a good idea to put some sort of an armour glaze on the duco so it washes up looking nice. I have also heard that it is a waste of money to do this. I'd hate to spend money unnecessarily. Any ideas?

High pressure cleaners can if the paint is flaky or you bring to close with the single fine jet. I have washed my Prado with the Gerni and had no issues. I use the fan beam to clean which give less pressure to the paint and body sections. I generally keep 30cm back for the paint.

I've always considered high pressure cleaners to be used UNDER the car. That case the higher pressure the better. Duco washes off easily with a bucket of suds, a hose and a sponge.

Default Bosch Aquatak 10

My machine is a Bosch Aquatak 10 which claims a pressure of between 90 and 100 bars. If my conversion sums are right that is between 1300 and 1450 pounds per square inch. I guess that's pretty powerful compared with 8UFF35T's. Maybe I'll stick with a wide spray from a distance. And maybe Big Red's idea is on the money. Thanks fellas for this.

they seem to work at the car wash with no problems, the only thing you really need to be carefull with is pushing mud or sand past seals with the water pressure.
