Default Kangaroo deterrents / Roo whistles

Does anyone have any experience with Kangaroo deterrents like ShuRoo or the little plastic ultrasonic whistles you stick to your bar?????

Just looking for info if anyone has anything worthwhile to offer?

Thanks
Coxy

Yes these can help, but I have seen them not work either, I always say there is no substitute for a high quality bull bar with high quality lighting, I have done heaps of outback travel and found this is the best way to - 1. to see the roos and avoid them, 2. if inpact is unavoidable, atleast you are not left stranded with an undriveable vehicle.
It is also worth noting it is not just the roos you need to be looking out for, there are plenty more animals out there that can do as much damage if not more than a roo could ever do.

you can get the cheaper $12 whistles which they say are animal deterrents as it uses a high pitch noise and they are from supercheap, big w or any auto parts store, i have seen a larger Roo shoo item at my local 4x4 store, but croozza right a high quality bull bar would be another worth while addition for protection, which is why im trading up from my stock alloy bar to a steel protection bar.

I used to have the plastic whistles on my rig and never hit any roos. I also never hit any rhinos, elephants or tigers so they must work on them as well.

One funny thing that did happen is that the day I broke them both off my Missus almost ran over two small redheaded children in two separate incidents at Noosa Northshore. Just goes to prove that they work well on Gingers.

They probably work in SCOTLAND as well.

A mate of mine had them & he still had near misses with Roos - THINK ABOUT IT - Roos aren't the brightest things, so if they do hear this scary noise WHICH WAY DO THEY RUN?

Do they run AWAY from the track or STRAIT AT IT?
