CV Boot Retainer

Hi All

While cleaning the car tonight, noticed that the chrome retainer ( like a large metal cable tie ) that secures the larger end of the CV boot on has come off.

For the life of me, I cannot loosen it to re attach. Is this a one way thing like a cable tie.

There is nothing wrong with the boot and the CV is still greased etc. It is being held on by a large cable tie.

Can you just buy these things ?

Wouldn't a large cable tie do the job just as well?

Got that on now and it seems to be working pretty well, just not sure about it stretching or anything, the metal one looked so much more secure.
