Default Bash Plates

When i had a Rav4, Bash plates where all the rage due to the low clearance. When i was changing the oil on the patrol this morning, I noticed there plastic in front of the steering arms and dampeners.

I am thinking it would be a good idea to put a bash plate there, but will it just break brackets if it gets hit to hard?

I suppose it would also help protect the sump?

Hi Logi

Good to hear the beast is running. Yes, bash plates useful. I know TJM make and fit them but RodW had a guy not far away that made his sliders, he may do the plates too.

I had a similar problem with my navara with ground clearance and a lack of funds for a lift. i bought a brown davis under-guard and think it was my smartest move, even if nothing hits it, its cheap insurance to protect vital stuff.

Don't bother with the bash plates for the Patrol just yet. Spent your dollars on a lift kit first. If you hit that little plastic thingy then, pick a new line. Mine is still in tact!!

Yours is good. It folds nicely around the steering arms hey Frosty.

I'm with Frosty not sure why you need bash plates. spend your money on other things first.

I just finished straighting my bash plates out the other day. I will get lift before i do any changing of the bash plates. Frosty needs bash plates around his rims so his tyres dont come off all the time

EDS at Brendale do a range of bash plates and they are much better made than the TJM stuff? Smashed the TJM one out of the D40 twice and then spend a few extra dollars for a fully reinforced one from EDS.
