Default Replacing a window in a Falcon

Hello all,
Small enquiry to find out how difficult it would be to hunt down a back left window to suit a Ford Falcon EL from the wreckers, and how hard it would be to fit it?
My brother got his back window smashed in during a break in and the excess is quite expensive so i was wondering how hard it would be to do it all ourselves?
Anyone done this or had any experience with putting in new windows??
Cheers!
Hogo

To hard to describe. And a manual is worth more than the falcon. Either pull it apart and WATCH CAREFULLY where the bits come from, you need no special tools. Or just trade the falcon on a new piece of glass!!

Hi mate, you will be able to pick up a window from most wreckers,First you will need to take the door trim off Then pull back the plastic "if still has it",Then you will see holes in the door,Wind the window down till you see the bar with 2 bolts on each end"10mm".you will need a socket with a long bar to undo them. When you undo them you should have washer Marks left on the bar so when you put the new window in use the Marks to line it up do up bolts and it should be right. If you have a bit of car sense you will find it very easy as its not hard to do...Hope this helps....

Thanks Sambartom, guess we wont know until we get into the door panel. He has trusted me with pulling his dash and floor apart to get the wiring done for a sub in the back, and like frosty said, the falcon is worth about as much as tits on a bull, so i can use it as a learning curve!

Well to tell the truth Falcons will be worth a bit of money in years to come as ford are going to stop making them,First to go will be the XR8 and XR6 so like me if you know some one with a XR tell them not to sell it put it away, trust me on this i know as i just got a XR8 BA and it will soon be on the classic list...MMMM money but money can not buy mine coss i love it...
