What Seats to Get
Hi guys as i posted in a recent post i have had a major back operation, but the good news is I'm nearly recovered enough to get back out on the tracks. My question is I'm looking at replacing my genuine 80 series seats for something my comfortable maybe something with a lumber support any suggestions would be helpful.

I think that is going to have to be a try before you buy, as what we might think is comfy and supportive might not be for you, you may have a special requirement from your back op, but there are many brands on the market, just try to find one that is the most adjustable and has good padding.

Hi ghumphreys. You must be glad to be able to hit the tracks again . Have you thought about a lumbar support instead of replacing the whole seat? If the whole seat is the only option, then you may want to check out some racing bucket seats, although I'm not sure what would easily bolt into your 80s.

Most places that do aftermarket leather fitment to STD seats can also re bolster and add features such as pump up lumbar support, would save you a few bucks also
Not sure who can do it down your way, here in Sydney I would recommend Doyles leather.

I'm with Walkabout see what it's worth to have them redone. Failing that most of the brand name type companies sell after market seats. eg ARB and so on.

A good car seat repairer works some magic and seats will be better than any new seat. A Patrol that was get up for touring had the seats redone and I have never driven a vehicle like, total comfort for the driver and passenger.

Seats
Thanks Guys a good mate of mine is an upholster i might ask him what he can do i just thought it might be easier to replace them . You don't realize how important your back is until it stops you doing everything you love. i had minor back problems for a few years but nothing like this, would not even wish it on the mother in law and thats saying something. Everything in the workshop has been lifted and as soon as i get enough money I'm going to invest in a secondhand hoist, its much cheaper than hospital bills and being off work for 3 months.
