If you have a GU IV or younger with a bad case of pimples on the Dash then go see Mr Nissan, they are replacing under warranty for up to 6 years old and unlimited Ks.

It is true in some cases. You need to contact Nissan with your Vin and they will confirm weather you are covered for Parts & Labour. Upto a couple of weeks ago you needed to fight to have labour covered. Not sure what is covered if your Vin isn't within the paramaters.

I had mine swaped about a month ago before they started the labour part - I had to fight Nissan but they covered the labour.

I went to Nissan Blackburn today and they took my rego, vin number and also a few photos of my dash baord.... they said they will send it to Nissan head office and they will have the finial decision on weather I'm covered or not...

Appearantly it also depends on how many owners the vehicle has had etc... (not sure why that would matter) so I have to wait a week for an answer.

They also said I will have to pay to have my DVD player, and what ever accessories I have on my dashboard put back..... they will remove it as part of the replacement but not put it back??? (I couldn't be f*#ed questioning it....)

They tried that with me - tried charging me an extra $100 I asked what the asseccaries were? It has a clip on phone holder / handsfree kit and some piller pods.

Anyway we had a discussion in the end I said no worries I will pay your hundred but I will be moving all our fleet cars 6 of them (for work) to another dealer! Never got the bill.

I don't think it matters how many owners the car has had.

Had a phone call from Blackburn Nissan this morning... all approved to get my dashboard replaced free of charge... however, I will need to pay someone to take out my dvd player and any other accessories on my dashboard that will be in the way of the people replacing the dasboard... uurrrggg

Tried arguing with them, but that is it! (Better then nothing I guess..)

Picked car back up today from Nissan Blackburn... Ahhhh new dashboard, no cost whatsoever.. Thanks Paul for the initial infomation!

Spent another 30 mins or so chatting with all the Nissan service guys about the mods on my car etc... it's like as though they have never seen a Patrol modified up.... I guess, most of the car they service are just stock standard and people like "us" go to specialist 4wd shops etc..

It was funny chatting with them...
