Smile What to do when you buy a new Camera

Hi Guyz
When I buy a new camera or expensive lens the first thing i do is buy a polarising filter.
reasons
1. Polarising filters help reduce the glare especially when taking photos that have a large amount of water / sea/ ocean etc they give a very crisp clear image by only allowing light that reflects from the subject to enter the lens!
2. possibly the best reason to buy and install a poarising filter - it gives you protection from accidentally scratching the lens - worst case if you get a scratch is throw it away and buy another (polarising filter) heaps cheaper than buying a new lens!!!

cheers Hunty

Well i found from experience that is... when buying a new camera, get a waterproof one so you can't drown the new one in red wine and get in the shit..

Yes,when I first bought my Canon SLR,I also got a Polarising filter.
Because i do alot of surfing, ocean pix & they do seem to make the better pix than without filter.
also salt that ends up on your lens, scratchs when cleaning(if not done properly)but if it does scratch,as you said, its cheaper to by a new filter instead of a len.

I bought a UV filter when I got my camera a couple of years ago, never been off it apart from the occasional experiment to see the quality of pics without it. Also keeps the lens scracth and dust free and don't have to worry about making sure a polarizing filter is aligned correctly for the scene.

Polarising filters are a must, but don't forget about other styles of filters, as this will open up a whole new environment for you to shoot. I also like the fish eye lens.
AND it is pretty much the same with camcorders as it is with SLR cameras, both will benifit with an assortment of filters and lenses.

Use a UV filters to protect the lens plus they are cheaper than a polariser to replace. UV filters work in bright days and night with little changes f stop. The polariser can be put on when required in bright light without removing the UV filter.

Nice information from you.

1)Decide About Size
2)Decide About Lens
3)Download the Manual
4)Check New Model Plans
5)Check Camera Sites
6)Look for ISO 50 Support or not

Thank you for sharing this wonderful page. I always find it in google for this, and this is the best.
