Hey Nao, we are organising a 3 day event over here in S.A as the first annual meet if your interested. Have a look at S.A annual meet at Bushys for more details.

Why not go to the Broken Hill area and Mungo National park, easy to lose a few weeks up there or the Flinders Ranges as well, that will fill 4 weeks easily, and a good time to go.
Or just head up the Silver City Highway, Innamincka, Tibbaburra, and Cameron Corner, good easy run that far up, rougher beyond, enjoy the travelling

Not hard 4wding, but I found some lovely scenery and secluded spots in the Croajingalong NP. Miners Tk, East Wingan Tk, Boggy Creek Tk, Mallacoota to Gypsy Point Rd power lines(some fun spots). Enough to explore for a few days. And the whale is still on the rocks at Shipwreck beach(one of the loveliest beaches I've seen in ages)if your into dead sea mammals

How about the Murray Sunset & Border Tracks area - East & Western (Ngarkart NP) - good camping & some great sand hills.

thanks for all the ideas guys.
decided I'm going to drive to cairns. one of the guys at work has a unit there, offered it to me for nothing so ill do a big 3 day drive, fly the mrs and kids up, and spend 3 weeks there, then the same home.. kinda figure 3 x 900 klm day drives should be ok - Im one of those guys that can do that without getting tired but if I do ill take the extra day.
I think three weeks in cairns and surrounds should be good. Will take the swags and some camping essentials as well.. have to do some research now..

thanks Jack,
haven't been to dargo for a few years now, spent much of my early 20's around there through to licola and surrounds on dirt bikes and had a blast.
