I was hoping to make it, but I have had these plans in the pipeworks for a while.

That looks like a great event, might have to pencil it in for next year. Maybe take the handbrake and kids.

Mitta Mitta was an excellent weekend with around 350 people from all states of Oz in attendance. Heaps of people got out on the numerous organised daily trips and the evening meals and entertainment were terrific.

The National 4x4 Gathering is a bi-annual event with the next occurring in 2010 at Pomona in QLD - hosted by the Mitsubishi 4WD Owners Club of Qld (Inc).

I have copies of the trek notes for the trips out of Mitta Mitta that were run during the Gathering. These excellent trip notes were put togther by Ian Lacey and members of the Idlers 4Wd Club.

Do yourself a favour, check out Mitta Mitta - it is a beautiful location. Great van park on the river with bush camping options available adjacent plus heaps of great spots to free camp on the river banks along the Omeo Highway and elsewhere.
