You can't go wrong with Maxxis Big Horns MT-762 they're slow wearing and excellent on road even in the wet with bugger all road noise.... Cheers Sean

What size are you intending to run as this will have a big influence on what you can afford given the $1200 price tag...

Another option is to buy 4 higher quality tyres & keep a roughy as a spare or one of your current tyres as a spare..

Big believer you cannot go wrong with any of the major brands & its a can of worms to discuss whats best... Be diligent with tyre pressures so check em weekly & rotate every 5,000 this will see you get 50K comfortably but abuse them & you will not!
Everytime you hit the dirt air down this will also lengthen the life of them & 90% of problems are due to drivers input not tyres IMO....

SO i would happily run Cooper ATR's again as i wore out 2 sets - no puntures
BFG KM1's no puntures
Maxxis Big Horns 1 set & were great but noisey buggers i would not run them again for an everyday driver & no puntures
Wranglers again very good no puntures

Just my 2 bob's worth & if 70% black top stay with ATR's imo.

Have you considered something like BFG All Terrains? Would seem to suit the type of ground you
would cover. I got over 100 thou kays on my set, although that is on a Patrol.

I read a couple of forums and some say they would never use BFG All Terrains again,

after reading more forums my head is spinning I'm looking to see what other guys with hiluxs use and so far has come down to coopers or big horns

On the forums I read the BFG AT's fare well. I'm certainly very happy with mine. Nice and quiet on the blacktop, good in the sand, fair in the mud.
