Thats why I posed the question, to get good and bad feedback, cause its not happening yet.

Aside from the problems etc with deposits and the legalities, you still need to outlay $1800.00. Multiply that over a couple of sets and it starts to add up. A lot of money sitting there.
IMHO, a tyre only works to it's optimum in the first 10 - 20% of it's life.
Food for thought.
Cheers

x2
They would want to be a good quaility tyre if you were going to hire them out and get them back without missing lugs etc. Good quality like Simex ET'2, TSL's .
Would not want to use softer compound tyres that damage easy like Fedeals, MTZ's or Silverstones for example.
Good idea though, then you would have to work out whether you would make your money back because no one would want to hire 50% tread muddies so you would have to be constanly updating the sets of tyres once they where down abit.
Don't think its a idea you would make money on.
Just my two bob's

Interesting idea Jack.
How large from std were you thinking of going?
Whats the repercutions to you if the vehicle is outside enginering specs(ie over 50mm lift)?
How do you work out undo/fair wear and tear? (You tube it 4 days latter ?)
Day/Km/Tread use rate?
How do you stop an oppertunist just running of with them?(They could claim their c/card got stolen).
Still if some one was coming down from Qld it would probilly be worth looking into to be able play in the High country.
It's worth looking at but you need to think of all the negatives first, positives are always easy to cover

Couldnt agree more. Waivers are not really worth the paper they are written on...
Many things to consider here Jack, what size wheel/tyre?, rim offset?, 5 or 6 stud?, what brand of tyre?; the list could go on.
If you decided to go down this road, I personally would keep it limited to those on this forum & only to those who go on a trip that you participate in.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys.
Keep those replies coming, as negative as possible, sure it would be for this forum only but then a lot from this forum belong to other forums etc. and I know it would only take one ar##hole to bugger it all up, but I need feedback first.
How some positive ones ?????
The most horrible ting that could happen is to have them stolen off the hirers car, loose the lot then, Hmmmm interesting negative!!!!!

I agree with Allanmac. Hire out to the people from the forum that you know or other people know. I for one would be interested as at the moment I'm running A/T's which limits what trips I go on. Cant afford a set of Muddie so this may be the answer.
