Ok. let's put it out there, $ 100.00 a day who is interested?
Lets's go from here!
I would give it a go, no better way than to try before you buy. And a set of muddies have a high price tag. Also I would enjoy the chance to do a few hard tracks with fellow 4x4ers that know the lines. Off with AT's and on with test tyres.

lots of good ideas although it sounds like alot of money to outlay to start up and cater for all. 100 dollars may seem reasonable for a one off time here or there. if you do go ahead with this i think it would be good if it is possible to mabe advertise on 4wdtv or 4x4 action for maximum coverage, all the best from ken.

Fourby's tyre services at Moorooka in Brisbane used to hire out mud tyres on rims, don't know if they still do. You had to take your car down and have them fit them, they hung on to your tyres and rims and charged a deposit as well. If you punctured their tyres you paid for the repairs, if you damaged one beyond repair you paid for a new tyre. Cost us $260 for a 3 day weekend to hire a set of 33" Baja Claws.
After hiring a set for the weekend I promptly purchased a set of 5 with rims.

you would need some form of public liability insurance to cove yourself, in the event that something went wrong with a tyre, and a customer tries to sue

Would not want to use softer compound tyres that damage easy like Fedeals, MTZ's or Silverstones for example.
Good idea though, then you would have to work out whether you would make your money back because no one would want to hire 50% tread muddies so you would have to be constanly updating the sets of tyres once they where down abit.
Don't think its a idea you would make money on.
Just my two bob's

but then you sell the tried tires at a reasonable price see where im going.
