235 tyres on 265 rims

hi there just a quick one my 1995 80 series has the factory 16 inch rims with 265/70 tyres on i would like to know if 235/85/16 tyres will fit on these rims with no after affects. cheers dean

check behind your wheel or on your door(drivers) should be a plate/sticker saying your max and min, and recommended sizes

i have done this before and didnt affect anything, its only a minimal change....as long as you get them balanced

265 could be run on 7" or 8" wide rims. 235 should be run on 7" rims.

I'm unsure what 80 series rims you have.

try 1010tires.com they have a suggested width on all tyres.
