Easy :
- Suitable for novice drivers and all wheel drive and high range 4WD vehicles. Can be low clearance with single range and road tyres.
- Mostly unsealed roads with no obstacles and minor gradients.
Moderate :
- Suitable for medium clearance vehicles with dual range and all terrain or road tyres. It is recommended that drivers have experience or 4WD training.
- Tracks have some steep and/or rocky/slippery/sandy sections and should be travelled in groups of vehicles. May have shallow water crossings.
Difficult :
- Suitable for medium to high clearance vehicles with dual range and all terrain tyres. Drivers should have 4WD driver training.
- Tracks with frequent steep and/or rocky/slippery/sandy track sections and should be travelled in groups of vehicles. Possible water crossings.
Very Difficult :
- Suitable for high clearance vehicles with dual range and tyres suitable for the terrain (e.g. mud terrain tyres). Drivers with extensive experience and advanced training should only attempt these tracks as there are several technical challenges. Recommended to be done in groups of four.
- Tracks with frequent very steep and/or rocky/slippery/sandy track sections. May have difficult river crossings. Winch and recovery equipment required.
Track conditions are subject to change over time, especially following rain. As always common sense should dictate whether you should attempt a track or not.
