033 This week we feature the beginning of our recent Hawaii 4x4 experience. This first episode from Hawaii focuses on the local vehicles and 4x4 trends and a typical 4x4 shop open day before heading west out of Honolulu to the stunning Peacock Flat where all manner of terrain had our Jeep convoy flexing and twisting under the hot Hawaiian sun. 032 First up this week we find ourselves just north of Brisbane for the Camper Trailer of the Year test with Camper Trailer Australia Magazine. With amazing shots from Rainbow Beach and the ranges up past Jimna this story is a must see for any one thinking of buying a camper trailer. We then shoot way down south to the Riverland region and the Loveday 4x4 Adventure Park in South Australia to tour the 8000 acres of private property set up for all manner of 4wd adventures. 031 To kick off the new series we revisit the Goldfields of Victoria with a focus on the 4wdriving opportunities from the Fryers Ranges, on to Mt Tarrengower and across to Dunolly. Leaping over the ditch, the team is then in NZ and less than an hour north of Auckland at the Woodhill Jeep Park with a pair of serious Kiwi rigs, checking out the tracks and terrain through the Woodhill area. 029 Undertaking the famed Savannah Way, John and Anne Moreton present a refreshing and relaxed view of this tough outback journey across northern Australia with a distinct focus on the amazing scenery and tropical wildlife. 028 Simon & Miranda head west this week to South Australia and visit a private 4x4 park along with the Lightforce sales team. Highlights of the trip include visiting the old farm ruins, following a 120 year old stone boundary fence and laughing as one of the Lightforce staff, under direction from Miranda, ends up precariously balanced in a deep washout. 1652 1 November, 2010
027 This episode sees Simon and Miranda hooking up with locals and sprinting 4 hours south of Perth to experience the breath taking beauty and diversity of the 4wd tracks in and around Pemberton. Starting from the tall timbered forests, we trek westward through the native bush, cross numerous rivers and pop out onto pristine sand dunes. A southward run along the white beach takes us to one of the tougher sand hills in the area where the group struggle but eventually triumph over the power sapping sand. 1518 22 October, 2010
026 This week we have a trip with a difference as we join Camper Trailer Australia Magazine as they drag around a dozen camper trailers the hard way up through Cape York. Join us as we follow this challenging and revealing journey from Cooktown in far North Queensland all the way to the tip of Australia via the Old Telegraph Track. Our very own resident expert Alan Johnson is luckily along for the ride and is kept overly busy with numerous repairs, rescues and recoveries. 2403 11 October, 2010
025 We kick off this episode with the final day of our Eldee Station trip, checking out more local ruins and playing up in one of the many washed out creek beds. The station owners give us the run down on their facilities and we highlight the local wildlife. From outback NSW we head west to Mundaring - a diverse and tough track just one hour out of Perth where we join a small group of keen local wheelers for a day drive following the famed Powerlines Track. 1321 11 October, 2010
024 This week we are special guests at Eldee station to the north west of Broken Hill. A working cattle and sheep station, Eldee station stretches from deep inside the Barrier ranges and out along the expansive Mundi Mundi plains. A haven for campers and 4wdrivers, the gullies, creeks and hills around Eldee station are also filled with historic ruins, scenic views and the sort of outback experience only reachable when you travel by 4wd a little further off the beaten track. 023 The team from YOUR4X4 tag along with the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club (MJOC) as they recce tracks in the sub-tropical forests around Noojee in eastern Victoria. First up we report on the trips conducted throughout the region, we then look at the upcoming Jeep Jamboree being planned for and get a run down on the MJOC itself before finishing with a taste of some of the trips done and to come on YOUR4X4. 1955 17 September, 2010
022 For this episode Kris, one of the YOUR4X4 cameramen joins Peto and Smorgy, aka Mark Petersen and Paul Morgan from the National 4x4 Show, for a trip with a difference. As the lads work over the father's day weekend at the Melbourne 4x4 show they thought they would take their dads outback for an early father's day celebration. The result is a unique and memorable 4x4 trip that starts at the Loveday 4x4 Park in Barmera and treks northward through the Simpson Desert, Finke, Alice Springs, Oodnadatta, Lake Eyre and Birdsville. 021 Danny and Simon kick off the new series with a bang. First up we take a quick look at the extensive range of prizes on offer for this all new series and then Simon and Danny finally let off some steam by showing off their own vehicles which have been transformed into seriously capable trucks. We then follow the keen 4wheelers from the Cairns 4wd Club as they take Danny and his family for a local 4wd trip, and finish the episode with a surprising look at the Brisbane 4x4 Show where Simon and Danny were special guests and there was no shortage of interesting action in and out of the many expo halls. 2312 26 August, 2010
020 To finish off Series 2 we join David Metcalfe for his annual Angel Adventure 4x4 trip for charity. This year the group starts at the dead centre of QLD and heads directly north to the tip of Cape York via the old Telegraph Track. 019 The team head to South Australia for the inaugural Australian 4x4 Muster, held at the Loveday 4x4 Adventure park half way between Adelaide and Mildura. Join us as we enjoy a weekend with well over 200 4x4's exploring the local dunes, mulga scrub, extensive man made 4x4 course, Murray river tracks and plenty more. 018 The YOUR4X4 sponsors join the team for an in depth 4x4 tour around the Southern Highlands in NSW based at the quaint country retreat of Berrima. Starting with a tour of Berrima Diesel and some dyno testing the crew finish day one with a light afternoon of country meandering. Day 2 starts with the famous powerlines track where plenty of rock stacking and one long winch is required. 017 This episode kicks off with Simon riding shotgun for Danny as he and a friend take on one wet and slippery track south west of Geelong in Victoria. 016 Simon and Miranda are special guests at the unique ARB annual conference at Broken Hill. The ARB Adventure Challenge included a navigational run in and out of Broken Hill and a day of 4wdriving across Mt Gibbs Station including low range and diff locked hill climbs, creek runs and winching. This episode takes a very different view of the 4x4 and tourist opportunities around the iconic Broken Hill at the gateway to the legendary outback. 1801 6 April, 2010
015 This week is a real treat as Simon and Danny are guests of David Stewart from Gecko Adventure in Malaysia, an expat who has kept the 4wd bug alive and well whilst residing in hot steamy Kuala Lumpur. It’s all smiles as the boys swim in mountain top water falls, enjoy bush cooked pepper chicken and tackle the mud, rivers and rocks of some of the toughest 4wd country we have seen. 2423 6 April, 2010
014 Another diverse episode with day trips, tips and hints just out of Melbourne and Sydney. With Simon and Miranda away, Danny hijacks their 80 series Cruiser and heads to the Cobaw State Forest. Sydney correspondent Tony O joins the MacCarthur District’s 4wd club for one of their regular ‘Clean Up Menai’ trips, and Sam McCredie leads a delightful and easy going day trip through the MacDonald Valley in NSW where she helps to recover a stuck Hilux caught playing in a sandy creek. 2336 15 March, 2010
013 YOUR4X4 Sydney correspondent John McCredie follows Nick Mannell from ARB Penrith as he leads a convoy of keen 4wdrivers through a range of tracks in the Watagans. Jase and Rodo head for Shoalwater Bay in search of adventure, and we join the Drive 4 Life crew on their recent trip to the Outback where they treated a group of disabled adults to a once in a life time 4x4 experience. 1637 15 March, 2010
012 Danny and Simon and a group of industry experts head east of Melbourne to the famed High Country for two days of tall timber bush ambling, breathtaking views, steep shaly tracks and swollen river crossings. Pristine weather reduced the opportunities for snow driving but to every ones delight, the peak of Mt Skene provided a short taste of white cover making for another memorable trip. 011 Danny and Simon welcome in the new series and briefly touch on the work they have had done on their own 4x4s since Series 1. We rejoin John and Anne Morton as they continue their tour of the Flinders Ranges before crossing to the mud of the Otways as we join a diehard crew from the Geelong 4wd club as they tackle some medium to hard tracks. There’s the typical Photo and Email competitions plus the new ‘Ask an Expert’ segment with some great information and handy prizes. 010 Simon and Danny kick off this episode with a recent trip to Woods Point. A taste of a 2 day visit through the Victorian High Country with the YOUR4X4 partners taking in Mt Skene, the Old Coach Rd and back tracks into Mansfield. This an excellent story for the final episode of this series and a taste of what?s to come in Series 2 when we do a full episode on this idyllic 4x4 destination. Finishing off the episode the team from Lifestyle Video Productions kick off their 3 week tour through the Flinders Ranges. 007 Steve Sheers continues his 4x4 odyssey across Siberia and takes on the Mongolian planes in his modified Delica. Catch up with a Finland 4wd club for an extreme day of offroading with heavily modified competition vehicles and hardcore club trucks.
